We thought we’d make things a little easier and help you plan out your next big bathroom clean using a trusty checklist.

1. Print this out or copy/paste each task into a checklist app and cross them off as you go to help you feel like you’re accomplishing things, bit by bit.
2. Start from the top of the room and work down to the floor, so you’re not having to redo the lower parts of the room when bits of dust, dirt, grime, cobwebs, etc. fall down as you clean the higher areas.
3. Don’t feel like you have to do everything in one session. You can absolutely break the big clean up into sections and tackle a few tasks at once, then leave the rest for another day.

Step-by-step checklist for the ultimate bathroom clean

1. Remove cobwebs from corners and ceilings
2. Clean the exhaust fan and any air vents
3. Dust the light fixtures, shelves, and other surfaces
4. Wipe down any walls or tiles
5. Clean and sanitise the towel rack and toilet paper holder
6. Empty and clean any toiletry or storage containers
7. Clean and disinfect the trash can
8. Organise and declutter the bathroom cabinets and drawers
9. Clean the grout between tiles
10. Scrub and disinfect the bathtub, shower, and shower doors
11. Wash or replace shower curtains
12. Clean and sanitise the toilet, including the bowl, seat, lid, and base
