Pets make a house feel like home. They also leave fur on the rug, paw prints across the floor and nose marks on the glass you cleaned yesterday.

For World Animal Day, we’re celebrating the animals we love, and sharing a few ways to keep up with the little messes they leave behind. No full-house deep clean required.

1. Lift the fur that’s stuck in your rug

Regular grooming helps catch loose fur before it lands on the floor. But for the hair already woven into a rug, try running a Silicone Squeegee gently across it in short strokes. Gather the fur as it lifts, then vacuum as usual. Test a discreet spot first if your rug is delicate.

Try this: Keep grooming supplies where your pet likes to settle, so a quick brush is easy to fit into the day.

2. Stop muddy paws at the door

A little preparation can save you from following paw prints through the house. Keep a towel and a non-slip mat beside the door you use after walks or outdoor play. Wipe paws before your pet heads inside and leave a second towel there for rainy days.

Try this: Put the towel back after each walk. Your paw station only works when everything’s there for the next muddy entrance.

3. Tackle nose prints where they happen

Every pet has a favourite window. You know the one: a perfect view outside, with a familiar patch of nose smudges at pet height.

4. Give food and water bowls their own easy-clean spot

Kibble crumbs and water splashes have a way of travelling farther than you’d expect. Place bowls on a washable, non-slip mat and give the surrounding floor a quick check after mealtimes.

5. Refresh their favourite resting spot

Whether it’s a pet bed, a corner of the sofa or the same patch of floor every afternoon, pets tend to return to their favourite spot. That’s also where fur and dirt build up.

Wash removable pet bedding according to its care label, then clean the floor and nearby hard surfaces while the bed is out of the way. Keep a MicroSponge Cloth close for marks around the area.
